Why would one want to park in a location that does not have any facilities or services when you could park your campervan in a safe and secure environment and costs a fraction of traditional lodging?
Furthermore, leading campground groups tend to have dozens of other independent locations spread across the country; meaning that whether you are venturing off the beaten track or visiting a country’s top cities, there will always be a campground nearby to relax in during the evenings, get a good sleep and prepare for the next days adventures. When booking a motorhome rental, make sure you ask if they have affiliations with any campground facilities around the country, often they provide a loyalty programme, saving you money, which you can use for other aspects of your holiday.
