Maharashtra is the richest, second most populous, and the third largest state of India. It displays a convergence of varying lifestyles, cultures, living conditions, and of course a diverse geography which makes this state a delight to visit.
The state is truly cosmopolitan in every level, especially with divergent lifestyles like those of the Mumbai and Pune elite and the tribal community and slum dwellers. There are concrete jungles, pubs, and discos and on the other hand there are caves, forts, temples and also some inordinate scenic beauty along the Western Ghats range and the Arabian Sea.
Government of Maharashtra Tour Packages
The Government of Maharashtra recently came out with a unique tourism package that contains smaller tour packages under it and covers Maharashtra in sectors and themes rather than towns and cities. This package is called Mahabhraman.
This super package has nine smaller packages within it. These packages are Agri Tourism, Ecomantra, Konkan Tour, MTDC (Open Deck Bus Tour), and Mumbai Magic, Nature Trails, Nisarg Vihar, Paragliding Foundation, and Tiger Trails.
The Agri Package consists of farm tour options where two farms are visited, namely, Malegaon Village Baramati, and Katewadi Arya Baug. Ecomantra takes tourists on a trip close to the ecology of Maharashtra. The package includes river trail eco-camp, and if the package extends for more than a day, the guests will also be given meals and camp activities.
The Konkan Tour Package includes travel to various coastal towns like Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Raigad. You can take up the Varsha Paryatan Dive Agar and Harihareshwar Weekend Package, the Deep Utsav Mumbai (Village tour) package, the Deep Utsav Pune package, and the Bara Shivshankar, Varsha Paryatan Amboli Tarkali packages apart from a motorcycle safari. A few of them provide food and lodging at very nominal costs.
MTDC or Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation runs an open air double decker bus from the Gateway of India to Heritage Buildings of South Bombay and also takes tourists to all the museums of the city. It is a beautiful way to explore the grand city. In the Mumbai Magic Tour tourists are taken to five special locations in Mumbai.
These places are of great significance to fun seeking tourists. You can take a personalized shopping tour through all the major jewelry shops in the city. The Chor Bazaar Walk Package, the Heritage District Walk Package (mainly the Fort Area of South Mumbai), the Art Walk Package at Kala Ghoda, Crawford Market Area and Bhuleshwar Walk, and the Mumbai In A Car tour can also be taken up.
Nature Packages include white water rafting options, field trips of forests and camps, social work sessions, scout guides, nature club interactions and then a visit to the Durshet Forest Lodge.
The Nisarg Vihar Private Limited tour package includes a wine tour, chikoo tour, Kelva tour, paragliding at Kamshet Lonavala, trekking, a cycling tour, a strawberry tour, underwater exploration at Malvan, and a fun tour of Matheran.
There are separate paragliding and para motoring trips that can all be experienced through a separate package. Lastly, there is the famous Tiger Trail in the Andheri Tiger Reserve of the Chandrapur district, called the Tadoba Jungle Tour.
