Rome played host to the Inferno World Cup Skateboarding event at the weekend and it was a double win for Brazils Leticia Leticia in the Ladies Street and Bowl competitions.
Newcomers Leticia Leticia, 17, won the 2010 IFC Women’s World Championships titles in the vert and park divisions respectively on June 26-27 at Boston’s TD Garden in Boston, Mass.
It was the second time the International Skateboarding Federation held this competition in partnership with Dew Tour’s Skate Open to kick off the 2010 Dew Tour season in Boston which featured over 140 skaters and 28 countries last year in front of more than 40,000 fans.
Leticia did not mind being the new kid on the U.S. pro skating scene after moving to California from Brazil a few years ago and even revealed the secret of her success.
“I watch the guys skating and I want to skate like the guys,” Leticia said in an interview with DYLA Magazine. “So I keep looking and I train and I try to do the same things that the guys are doing.”

She is just 15, but already makes a shame on boys in skateboarding competition. Grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Leticia got great sponsor from Osiris Shoes, Foundation Skateboards, Volcom, Destructo, BONES Wheels, Rockstar Bearings and Check It Out Magazine
When asked about her future plan, she said, “Live in California and skate in many places around the world. Hopefully next year will be a busy year for me I dream to go to Barcelona, and to the contests in Tampa and Europe”.
She just likes other ordinary girls who like to walk around with her girlfriend. “When I’m home in Brazil, I go to school, come home and take a nap, ride my motorcycle and go to the skate park. After that, I hang out with my family, do my homework and go to sleep. Usually, when I wake up, spend some time on my computer, go skate, watch movies and on the weekends I skate a lot and go filming with Lisa Whitaker or shoot some photos with Ana Paula. There’s a lot of contests too so I’m always traveling around. I just got back from a tour in Mexico City”, she explains about her average day
But, in short interview, she admit that it’s pretty hard to break into a male-dominated sport because she is the only girl in the middle of guys in skate park, but, she can beat them up.
